The organisation has just undertaken a restructure and is now looking for more volunteers.
Pastor Pete Dover and Reverend Matt White both played important roles in setting up the shelter.
They both say becoming a volunteer has never been easier.
Pastor Pete said there was always room for improvement.
"We realised there are a lot of great things we do well and things we have not done so well and that we need to improve," he said
Pastor Pete said they want to make things simple and easier for all the shelter's volunteers.
"Now instead of having two managers we now have four," he said.
The managers look after things like administration, intakes and most importantly they are there to support the shelter's volunteers.
The Register spoke to a homeless person who had now became a volunteer to get a further insight.
Rev White, who opened the Wesley Centre as a shelter before the Kinghorne Street facility operated, agreed that becoming a volunteer was now easier.
"We are doing inductions better, getting people orientated to what is expected of them is now better and they know what they, as volunteers, need to do," Rev White said
"We are giving our volunteers better skills and the opportunity for further training and development.
"We are just looking after those who volunteer better than we were doing before.
"It's a matter of learning from those things we can do better."
