Hospital emergency
No matter your political views, with the latest health horror story at Shoalhaven Hospital, it is hoped the Prime Minister and Premier saw the address to federal parliament by the new Member for Gilmore, Fiona Phillips, or read the editorial in the South Coast Register. It has been over 10 years since the rot has set in at Shoalhaven Hospital. This is the first time those watching federal parliament saw our new member expose the health problems of the Shoalhaven and South Coast with the hospital car park more important than hospital beds, long waiting times in casualty or to have surgery. On her last visit, the Premier said people were flocking to live in the Shoalhaven but local state MPs are saying a shortage of specialists in the Shoalhaven is the problem but said nothing about beds or wards. Will these horror stories run as long as Days of our Lives?

We deserve the same
It's disgusting that anyone has to wait more than 12 hours for a bed in the hospital. We deserve the same care as Sydney residents.

Second-class citizens
I have recently moved to the Shoalhaven from Sydney. I love this area, but there is so much to improve including the hospital.
I have experienced sitting in the emergency waiting room for three hours and left before I could see the doctor.
It was like walking backwards in time and they don't even give you plastic cups for the water dispenser.
If you ask for a cup, it is like you are an inconvenience.
You become second class citizens the moment you go public.

Grateful motorists
We moved down here eight years ago and have nothing but praise for all the road workers and the great job they have done and are doing. We travel to Sydney each week and love watching the jigsaw come together. Thankyou from two happy motorists.

Church in the way
About 2008 I was interviewed by SCR regarding a bypass of Nowra CBD along a western route. I actually suggested an eastern route to meet up with the rail line. I was told by council to cool it as it would delay the council aproved western routr. The mayor of the time told my friend building on the bypass easement, "Forget the bypass, it not going to happen " and my friend built the church.

Unforeseen consequences
I'm a little confused. If you stop people, who are on drugs, from receiving a government handout aren't they going to have to find money to cover their addiction from somewhere else?
That would mean that the crime rate will go up and hard-working people will be out-of-pocket.
Do any of these bureaucrats actually think about the repercussions that come from their stupid and inept thought bubbles?
