Weather permitting traffic will be diverted onto a newly-built section of the southbound carriageway between Jaspers Brush Road and Silos Estate.
This is the first section of the permanent new road to be completed.
Southbound traffic will be moved onto the new road to allow access to the existing road for construction.
Roads and Maritime Services said it is planned for traffic to utilise the new section of road until Thursday, October 3.

During this time, access will be restricted to left-in and left-out of local properties, including Silos Winery.
Barriers will separate the northbound and southbound lanes for about one week. But the move is dependent on the weather.
Once the barriers are removed, northbound traffic will also be moved across to the new road.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 60km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and road users until the traffic switch is complete.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and to follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Transport for NSW thanks motorists for their patience during this time.
