Today (Saturday, September 21) the Seagulls broke its two decade long Shoalhaven Football Association drought by beating Bomaderry 2-1 at Ison Park, South Nowra in the first-grade decider.
Unfortunately, the bare results will show an own-goal from the Tigers was the difference between the two teams.
The own-goal came at the 14th-minute mark and to the Tigers' credit they pushed on despite the incident.
Bomaderry levelled the score at the 38th-minute mark when Brendan Kellett made the most of penalty his team was awarded.
What was to be the eventual match-winning goal came just before the break when Gary Masterson found the back of the net.

While the second stanza was goalless it was far from dull.
The second half was typical of a first-grade grand final - it was physical, attack swept from end to end, the defenders stood tall and there was a bit of push and shove.
Full details of the Seagulls' drought-breaking win will appear online tomorrow on the Register's website.
