State Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock said $5 million was being invested to develop and construct a roundabout to improve road safety and reduce the likelihood of crashes at the intersection.
The intersection will provide improved access to St Georges Basin and Sanctuary Point, which are popular South Coast tourist destinations that see high traffic volumes during holiday periods," she said
Installing a roundabout at this location is aimed at treating the severity and incidence of crashes at the intersection.
It will manage approach speeds, reducing queue lengths and the number of potential points of conflict for road users, and improving traffic flow and intersection performance.
Traffic calming, line marking, improved signs and increased lighting will also be installed at the intersection."
