FOUR South Coast talents will have a chance to showcase their rugby union skills on the national stage after being named in their respective squads for the Aon Uni Sevens competition.
Ulladulla's Lily Murdoch and Cambewarra's Aroha Spillane will both make their Aon Uni Sevens debut after being named in the 12-person University of Canberra squad, coached by Liam McGrath.
"It's a young team but, it's a young team with a lot of talent and experience," McGratth said to UC Sport.
"There's four women pushing for junior national team selection, two who competed in the Dream Big Time camp a few weeks back, a group who've played Super W together, and then when you throw the national team athletes into the mix it makes for a really experienced side."
Jamberoo Superoos' Lauren Murty is in the University of Sydney squad, while Aussie Sevens star Rhiannon Byers, who's grandparents Ian and Shirley Usher are based in Nowra, will line up for the University of New England.
The four-tournament series will kick-off at University of Queensland on Saturday and finish on Sunday with finals.
The 2019 Aon Uni Sevens will see the addition of two new teams, with University of Western Australia and University of Technology, Sydney, joining the competition.
For the opening round, Griffith University, University of Sydney, University of Adelaide, Bond University and University of Melbourne are in Pool A, while University of Queensland, University of Technology Sydney, University of Canberra, University of New England and University of Western Australia will contest Pool B.
