Registered charity Mr. Perfect "Mental Health's Mate" is out to bring its men's community barbecue initiative to Nowra and is on the hunt for a BBQ host for a couple of hours each month.
Mr. Perfect is a grassroots charity that encourages connection in a supportive and inclusive environment, predominantly through our monthly barbecues in communities across Australia.
All equipment for the barbecue, the marketing, and everything else involved is funded by Mr. Perfect
Founder Terry Cornick said any individual is welcome, but community groups are also able to get on board.
"Usually I have a chat with them on the phone. The current Meetup BBQ Hosts tend to have an interest in mental health or work in the day job in some capacity in the sector or they are very community-minded," he said.
Mr Cornick said the format is simple, informal and completely inclusive.
It is a chance to get out of the house in the sun, socialise and meet some great people and form a supportive community.
Friends, family and pets welcome too. Mental health is discussed at times and is purely optional.
Mr. Perfect's aim is to ensure our community feels safe, supported, worthy and listened to.
