The upgrades, which cost $931,000, were the result of a partnership between the NSW Government's Boating Now program and Shoalhaven City Council, with the state government funding $890,000 of the cost.

South Coast MP Shelley Hancock said stage one and two had now been completed.

"[It] involved developing a masterplan for the facility and installing the new pontoons upstream and downstream of the boat ramp as well as a new boardwalk across the adjacent creek to provide launching access for passive craft," Mrs Hancock said.

Shoahaven Mayor Amanda Findley said the improvements were good news for boaties and commercial operators in the area.

"Woollamia Boat Launching Facilities is one of the most popular in the Shoalhaven and council are keen on improving the site further with further work planned as funding becomes available," Cr Findley said.

Council also announced it received funding for further improvements at the boat ramp, including money for a car park and the construction of a heavy duty loading wharf.

A meeting will be held at the Jervis Bay Game Fishing Club Room at 4pm on Thursday, September 5 to discuss the car park and heavy duty loading wharf.
