Power and Anderson take on Dapto Citizens' 2019 Major Pairs champions Adrian Jones and Dylan Skinner in Saturday week's decider after both finalists won three games last weekend.

Power and Anderson are bidding to become the first Shoalhaven Heads bowlers to win a Zone 16 title and will be playing on their home green in front of their club members in the final. The Shoalhaven Heads duo have overcome a tough draw and beat Corrimal champions Ken Hunt and Col Cheadle 22-18 in round two, before booking a semi-final spot with an upset 22-12 win over Warilla's Jackaroos star Jesse Noronha and Ted Clarke last Sunday.

Power and Anderson booked a spot in the final with a 24-17 win over defending Zone 16 Champion of Club Champion Pairs winners, Windang's Geoff Walker and Mark Larsen.

Meanwhile, Adrian Jones and Dylan Skinner want to become the first Dapto Citizens Pairs champions to win the Zone 16 title since Trevor Gillis and Brian Harriott won the crown in 2013.

Skinner claimed the Zone 16 Champion of Club Champion Singles in 2017 and he and Jones survived a last end 22-21 thriller in their opening match against Bomaderry's Greg Salway and Luke West.

The Dapto Citizens combination then beat Oak Flats' Mario Marsh and Peter Mead 22-12 before reaching the final with a 24-13 win over Wiseman Park's Mick Thorne and Scott Bateup.

Nineteen Major Pairs champions were chasing the Zone 16 crown, with Shoalhaven Heads BC also hosting the Singles event, won by Warilla's Corey Wedlock, earlier this month.

Two of the eight Pairs games in round two went down to the final shot with Thorne and Bateup surviving to beat Figgy Bowlo's Ian Callaway and Bob Wilson 19-18, while Dylan Skinner had a one shot win over Luke West.

Meanwhile, Zone 16's leading juniors were impressive in claiming the Silver medal at the 2019 NSW Junior Inter-Zone 7-A-Side Championships at Club Dubbo.

The event featured seven players from various NSW zones in Singles, Pairs and Fours, with an award for each discipline champion, plus overall honours.

Sydney South West (Zone 12) edged out Zone 16 for overall Gold.

In the Singles, Dapto Citizens' Tyson Arneman played well to claim Silver behind Matthew Swan (Zone 12); with Zone 16's Ricci-Rose Hampton (Dapto Citizens), Jacob Aitken (Kiama), Charlie Jeffers (Gerringong) and Jackson Williams (Dapto Citizens) claiming Bronze in the Fours.

Warilla's Ryan Nabbe and Windang's Daniel Davies represented Zone 16 in Pairs.

Meanwhile, defending men's champion Aaron Teys (Warilla) and Oak Flats' Gary Sampson are Illawarra's representatives in the men's field for the Australian Indoor Singles next Monday at Tweed Heads BC.

Australian rep Rebecca van Ash is the women's defending champion, with our region to be represented by six-time champion Karen Murphy, plus Fairy Meadow junior Dawn Hayman, Warilla junior Samantha Noronha and Warilla's Pam Willetts in the women's field.

The men's and women's finals are on Thursday August 29.

For the first time the two Australian Indoor champions will head to England to represent Australia at the World Cup in 2020 with the event moving from Warilla to the northern hemisphere.
