Although the first grade result didn't go their way, with Shoals going down to Bowral 26-24, the day meant a lot more than just winning on the field to a lot of people.
One of those people was Shoals skipper Steven Brandon.
"The day was very special to me, my brothers and my whole family," Brandon said.
"It was one of my greatest days on the footy field and I'm sure it'll be even bigger next year."
In the loss, Steven Brandon, Tom Sims and Mark Brandon scored tries, with the latter landing three conversions and a penalty goal for the Shoals - who were playing their final home game at Rugby Park for 2019.
"We played some of our best footy all season against Bowral, who are second on the ladder for a reason," Brandon said.
"Both out attack and defence were strong in patches and we proved if we are more consistent across the full 80 minutes, we can stick it to the top teams in this competition."
Elsewhere in first grade, Vikings and Avondale drew 15-all, University thumped Campbelltown 56-12, Tech Waratahs edged Kiama 27-10 and Shamrocks ran riot against Camden 52-12.
In second grade, Shoals went down 27-17 to Bowral, while the Vincentia Van Goghs defeated the Blacks 33-26.
Shoals, who sit in seventh, will end their 2019 season with a trip to Ocean Park on Saturday to face the third-placed Shamrocks.
