The 50-year-old male rider, who it is understood does not come from the local area, was riding with a group of friends when the accident happened on the eastern side of Braidwood Road near the intersection of Parma Road.
It is believed the man's trail bike left the roadway and struck a traffic sign poll just before 3pm.
