IT was a day to remember for Gerringong Public School on Thursday, as they took out both the Paul McGregor and Rod Wishart Shields, at the Southern NRL Game Development regional finals day.

Held at Albion Park's Croome Road facility, Gerringong's Rod Wishart Shield team only conceded one try through their four matches on the day.
They smashed Port Kembla Public School 34-nil in their opening match, which was followed by wins against St Peter and Pauls Kiama (30-nil) and Good Samaritan (28-6) - to book their spot in the decider.
In the grand final, Gerringong easily accounted for local rivals Kiama Public School, winning 22-nil - with Rod Wishart being on hand to present the trophy.
Tamara Sutton's Gerringong side included Hunter Wiki, Henry Clare, TJ Willie, Wyland Hall, Tully Alchin, Jai Butler, Jacob Booker, Reilly Caswell, Cade Chapman, Matt Smith and Keyan Detheridge.
Not to be outdone, Gerringong's Paul McGregor Shield team (years three and four) opened their day with a strong 18-10 win against Hayes Park Public School.
This was followed a win against St Peter and Pauls Kiama 18-12, before edging out Berry 16-12 in the final.
The Gerringong side featured Preston Sager, Oscar Paterson, Tasman Lang, Charlie Mckelvey, Rocky Hingle, Nash Ford, Marc Booker, Bailey Egan, Blair Churchill and Billy Whyte.
During the competition, that has ran through the first three terms of the year, more than 2,600 students had competed across 10 different galas days - with the top teams reaching the recent finals.
