Applications for the 2019 Bernie Regan Sports Trust grants have opened, ahead of their presentation evening at the Bomaderry Bowling Club on Friday, October 18 from 6pm.
If you've had an exceptional year in the sporting arena, you should get in contact with the Trust via email at brtrust@hotmail.com, before Friday, August 30 - which is when applications close.
Last year, 34 Shoalhaven rising stars applied for grants, with 10 well-deserving athletes receiving financial aid.
These grants took the Trust past $370,000 handed out over the past 34 years - which has seen more than 100 athletes benefit.
Some of these notable athletes include cricket Nic Maddinson, ironperson Kirsty Higgison, athlete Paul Greene, hockey player Callum Mackay, golfer Jordan Zunic and swimmer Lori Munz - as well as last's recipients, which included Karlee Symonds, Jasmine Greenwood, Sam Wright-Smith, Josh Costain, Keira Buckpitt, James and Hannah Phillips, Mason Hills, Cooper Thomson, Nash Hay and Jade Mustapic.
"We pride ourselves on helping the current and future athletes of the Shoalhaven, in all their endeavours," Trust board member Chris Regan said.
"Dad's vision, when the Trust started in the early 1980s, was to assist young athletes financially chase their dreams - whether it was accommodation, fuel, uniforms or equipment - we didn't want money to stop kids chasing their dreams."
