The vial fuel trailer was taken two weeks ago from Marine Rescue Shoalhaven's Pilot House in Crookhaven Heads.
Callala local Brad D came across the trailer on Tuesday, July 30 while riding his bike through the bush.
The trailer has been towed away and is being fingerprinted by police.
Marine Rescue Shoalhaven unit commander Bill Carter said although the trailer has been found, there will still be out-of-pocket costs.
"I'm pleased it was found... just concerned that we have to do a lot more work to get it repaired," he said.
"We're doing all that we can do to assist with police enquiries,
"But at the end of the day someone knows who did this, people talk, someone knows what happened."

The trailer's spare wheel and battery were stolen as well as 420 litres of fuel.
Marine Rescue Shoalhaven is still unsure if the trailer can be repaired and now need to upgrade their security.
"It's going to cost a lot more to put in new security," Mr Carter said.
They have plans to upgrade their CCTV and put in security gates.
