Festival director Emma Bell said she was thrilled with the success of the festival, which this year focussed on children's literature.
"Between them, our guest authors Jack Heath and Jacqueline Harvey spoke to more than 1000 school children on Friday and it was standing room only in the library for their author talks on Saturday," Ms Bell said.
"Both Cheryl Westenberg's illustration workshop and Allison Tait's writing workshops were wonderful and the feedback we have had, from the schools, parents and the children themselves, indicate that we really are getting this right.
"I can't thank the Nowra community, sponsors and volunteers enough for their support and we look forward to returning with our combined adult and children's festival next July. Watch this space!"
