Merimbula and Narooma will play for the Matt Ratcliffe and David Wordern Memorial Shield when they face off at Berrambool on Saturday.
The pair were both heavily involved in their respective clubs before losing the battle with MND.
"It's a cause very close to both the Diggers and Narooma," Merimbula club president Jason Raeck said.
"A couple of years ago our first grade captain's dad David Wordern was taken by MND, and Matt Radcliffe in Narooma was the same thing."
The two clubs used their clash last year to pay tribute to the pair with a memorial trophy and an "ice slide" challenge.
"Narooma last year put on a big night and we thought we could make it a tradition. MND is quite prevalent - many people either have it or are close to someone who has.
"This is our way of recognising those people and raising some money to help get rid of this bloody thing."
Eleven business from the Far South Coast are facing off in the MND ice slide, with the lowest fundraisers force to take the plunge in front of the crowds following Sunday's first grade game.
The businesses include the three Mitre 10 stores - Bega, Pambula and Eden - "having a crack at each other" Raeck said, while Eden Ice Supplies is donating the chilly bath's contents.
"We've relied on our community to help spread the word and raise money and everyone has been absolutely great - no-one has turned us away."
Saturday's events at Berrambool are family friendly with plenty of activities for children along with a full day of quality Aussie rules between the two clubs.
Very special guest Dayne Beams of AFL Collingwood fame will be in attendance on the sidelines as well as at a fundraising dinner Saturday night at the Merimbula RSL.
"That's massive for us have Dayne Beams coming down, being part of the 2010 premiership team and everything that's been happening in the AFL with Neale Daniher and the MND ice challenge," Raeck said.
"It's a pretty big occasion."
The day will get underway with under 12s from 8am, under 14s 9.10am and under 16s at 10.30am. The women's game is at 11.50 and ball-up in the seniors is at the earlier time of 1.10pm.
The MND Ice Slide challenge will take place after the main game from around 3.30pm.
