The two-point win at Artie Smith Oval was set up by goals to Lily Macdonald (two), Emily Reichler and Tiffany Weynberg, with Josie Cousins, Bridget Kellett, Sophie Phillips, India Patmore and Brooke Swankie also playing strongly.
Following their win, their seventh of the season, Geoff Gibbs' Tigers move up into second spot on the ladder, behind only the Wollongong Bulldogs, who are 9-1 this year - with the Wollongong Lions (7-3) and Kiama (6-4) rounding out the top four.
Unfortunately, this was the only victory for the black and golds on Saturday, with both their premier and division one men's sides falling to the Power.
Matt Barnes' premier men's side went down 13.12-90 to 2.4-16, despite the efforts of Adriaan Toms, Luke McCann, John Muggleton, Matt Polman, Jack Boxsell, Jack Batson and Jake Satchell, while the division one side were defeated 13.12-90 to 2.10-22, with Mitch Wurr, Jacob Howard, James Macdonald, Nick McDonald, Brent Tyrrell and Leslie Wardale doing all they could.
Crosstown rivals Nowra/Albatross recorded a tight 9.12-66 to 7.11-53 against Port Kembla in their division one men's match, while the Vikings division women's side smashed Albion Park 4.16-40 to 0.1-1 - with both matches being played at Tom Smith Oval.
Finally, Bay and Basin defeated the Bulldogs 4.7-31 to 1.1-7 in their division one women's fixture.
