THE two Greater Southern Region Stars sides have qualified for their respective CRL League Tag Championships grand finals, after dominant displays at Yass on Saturday.

In the open women's division, Cheyanne Hatch's GSR side, featuring Jamberoo's Lauren Murty, Aimee Barnard, Carly Ryan, Kaela Thomas and Brooke Smith, Kiama's Talia Atfield, Tyler Finn and Alana Glasson, Stingrays of Shellharbour's Bronte Girdler and Albion Park-Oak Flats' Brittany Constable, opened their accounts at Walker Park with a convincing 30-10 win against the Monaro Colts.
In the 24-point win, with Sam Grothe (two), Lauren Murty, Tyler Finn, Kaela Thomas and Chelsea Tout scored tries, with Cary Ryan, Grothe and Talia Atfield landing kicks.
Game two followed in the same vein, with the Stars running out winners 24-4 against Riverina, thanks to a Tyler Finn hat-trick, as well as tries to Aimee Barnard and Talia Atfield - with the latter landing two conversions.
Hatch's side wrapped up their undefeated day with a tight 14-10 triumph against the Western Rams - with tries to Brooke Smith (two) and Tyler Finn proving the difference.
These three wins for Hatch's side, which also contained The Oaks' Rebecca Pollard, Camden's Jenaye Collins, Thirroul's Piper Favell, Campbelltown City's Keisha Waite, Woonona's Brodie Grogan and Western Suburbs' Sam Grothe, will now face the Central Coast Roosters, who won the northern pool thanks to wins against the North Coast Bulldogs (28-6), Northern Rivers Titans (30-nil) and Greater Northern Tigers (16-4), in the final.
Not to be outdone was Aaron Lucas' under 16s GSR side, headlined by Stingrays' Mackenzie Lear, Dakota Mason, Lilli O'Dea, Bindi O'Hara, Lily Eggleton, Tayleah Handcock and Macey Lee as well as Milton-Ulladulla trio Jordyn Afflick, Taylah Afflick and Lily Rogan, who also won all three of their matches at Yass.
They opened their campaign with a 20-nil win against the Monaro Colts, with Jordyn Afflick, Bindi O'Hara, Daktoa Mason, Kiara Bolz scoring tries - as Rylee Jansen converted two of the four-pointers.
In game two, the GSR side, which also included Collegians' Neave Ferguson, Sophie Rodwell, Rylee Jansen and Tatum Yeo, Camden's Claudia Bush, Narellan's Kiara Bolz and Thirroul's Macy McPherson, edged out the Riverina Bulls 10-8 - Rylee Jansen's conversion proving to be the difference following tries to Macey Lee and Taylah Afflick.
Lucas' side rounded out their perfect day with an 8-nil victory against the Western Rams, with Kiara Bolz and Jordyn Afflick crossing the line for tries.
The under 16 Stars will now face the Greater Northern Tigers in the final, after they defeated the Northern Rivers Titans (36-14), North Coast Bulldogs (32-4) and Central Coast Roosters (30-4) in the northern pool.
Both grand finals will be played at Wyong this Saturday.
