The fire, with smoke and flames billowing from a rooftop vent without the quick work from staff, could have spread.
The fire started on a kitchen stovetop, in the Junction Street Nowra based club, and then went up into a vent.
Police and the Fire and Rescue Station officers were called about the incident at 9.10am Saturday morning.
The fire was contained by the time the firefighters arrived.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
The club remains open for business.
