The book, 'Wicked' by Winnie Holzman, and now hit Broadway show, is the untold story of the Witches of Oz, where they came from, how they were educated and how they set the scene for this little girl with red shoes.
The Albatross Musical Theatre Company (AMTC) is presenting this wonderful production right now and, once again, demonstrating the remarkable talent we have here on the South Coast, not only on stage but behind the scenes.
The two witches are played beautifully by Molly Stewart as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West (green witch) and Hannah Garbo as Galinda, the Good Witch.
Both displayed wonderful singing voices and their acting abilities, which covered comedy as well as high drama, was flawless.
Naomi Dootson's performance as Madame Morrible was also outstanding.
Other major characters who also performed exceptionally were Alexander Morgan, Luc-Pierre Tannous, Morgan Dootson, a stellar performance by this young person, Paul Fraser and Mark Harris, all talented principals in their own right.
The chorus numbers were beautifully suing and the dancers, who often had to pose in uncomfortable positions such as winged monkeys, was perfect. A great night out, absolutely not to be missed."
The show is on for another three performances this weekend, Friday and Saturday evenings and a Sunday matinee which is filling up quickly.
Tickets can be purchased online at shoalhavenentertainment.com.au, via the phone on 1300 788 503 or in person at the Box Office.
