The 18-year-old from Old Erowal Bay was named in the Top 5 at the NSW State Final at The Star in Sydney, Sunday evening.
Byrne is currently studying a Bachelors degree in nursing at the University of Wollongong, whilst also working part time as a pharmaceutical technician at Choice Pharmacy in Vincentia.
Throughout the last four months she's raised more than $700 for her charity of choice, Variety the Children's Charity.
Byrne said she's excited to be representing this region and will now go on to the national final on the Gold Coast, to be held at the Palazzo Versace Hotel on July 19.
"I am honoured to be from the Shoalhaven and bring this area with me to the National final," she said.
"Out of all the things that burden this world today there is one issue in particular I am the most passionate about and that is the low socioeconomic demographic that is the threatening the Shoalhaven, in particular the youth unemployment rate.
"As a young person myself I have learnt to love my job/s and find a happy medium with everything that I do in my life to achieve my dreams and I'm truly passionate about letting others achieve their true potential and I am a strong advocate for self love. I believe that starts with self respect, something I want nothing more than for this community - my community."
Bryne, along with the other finalists, were judged on personality and questions, and evening wear. Sunday night's judging panel included sponsors and celebrities.
The other finalists named include Tijana Bundalo, Elice Craig, Kassandra Kashian, and Sarah Marschke.
The woman given the 2019 crown on July 19 will represent Australia at the global final in Thailand this December.
The competition was open to all natural born females in the country, though has to be an Australian citizen or resident, aged between 17 and 27, have never been married, have never given birth to a child, and have never committed any crime.
