The cook off is part of a huge family fun day which will be held this Wednesday, July 10 at the Nowra Showground as part of the celebrations.
Four local teams are set to do battle for bragging rights as winners of the cook off.
Teams from Grand Pacific Health, Family Services Australia and the Aboriginal Maternal Infant and Child Health from the Shoalhaven Health District will do battle with a community-based team which will be organised on the day.
As for what they will be cooking that's all a bit of a mystery according to one of the cook off organisers, National Heart Foundation regional health promotion coordinator Andy Mark.
"We've used a number of similar recipes over the years but this year it's all new," he said.

Participants will have a traditional recipe and be using ingredients like kangaroo, crocodile and fish.
And it will all come under the watchful eyes of a number of local elders who will be judging the event.
"The finished meals will also be available for members of the public to try," Mr Mark said.
The idea of the competition is to promote healthy eating and healthy living.
And, of course, there are also bragging rights on the line.
"It is always a big deal as to who wins the cook off, " said Wellways community supervisor Kathy Musico.
"They have bragging rights for the next 12 months.
"It's pretty competitive but also a friendly competition."
The cook off always draws a crowd, as family and friends gather to support their particular team.
Each team has one hour to cook their meals before presenting them to the judges.
"It's a great event and it's great for the Heart Foundation to be working with Cullunghutti and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District to organise such an event," Mr Mark said.
"The local NAIDOC committee has been a great support. We have been running the competition since 2013."
If anyone would like to take part in the community team they can contact Andy Park at the event on the day.
There will actually be three cook offs as part of NAIDOC celebrations in the Shoalhaven this year.
As well as Wednesday's event at the Nowra Showground, there will be another one in Ulladulla on July 12 and as part of the Winter Kitchen at Parramatta Park in Nowra on July 19.
So popular have the events proven that there are now NSW cooking trailers located across the state - with expressions of interest for such programs to be run in Forbes, Casio and Newcastle areas.
They are also operating in Moree and the Far South Coast.
"The message is simple," Mr Mark said "it's all about healthy eating. It's an important message.
"And that message is getting across - attitudes have changed so much in the past few years and it's great to see.
"People want to cook and eat healthier and realise it's easy, affordable and good for you."
For the record, last year's winners were the South Coast AMS team.
Wednesday's activities start with the flag raising and official opening at 10am.
The cook off will start at 11am. There is a full day of family activities planned, with the event aiming to live up to this year's theme - "Voice. Treaty. Truth - let's work together for a shared future".
The family fun day will also have multiple stall holders, talented local entertainment, traditional Indigenous dance, musicians and singers, while there will be rides and a variety of other activities for the whole family.
