Just before 9pm (July 3), police said two home-made improvised explosive devices, pipe bombs, were thrown onto the windscreens of two vehicles parked in the driveway of the Kembla Close home.
The brazen attacks were on a small sedan parked on the road directly under a street light, while the second car was just metres from the family home in the driveway.
Home owner Brad Reeves had just gone to bed and was "watching the tennis" on television when he heard the first of two loud explosions.

"I had no idea what it was," he said.
"When the first one went off outside my window I thought it sounded like a railway detonator going off," he said.
"But not just one or two, a whole box."
He said moments later a second loud explosion rocked the area.
Going to his front door he said he wasn't sure what "devastation" he was going to encounter.
"There was nothing there," he said.
"My neighbour was out looking but we couldn't see anything.
"Then he spotted the damage to one of our cars parked on the road."
The windscreen was smashed and there was damage to the bonnet.
The second car, which the family only purchased two weeks ago, was also found damaged in the driveway.
"We had no idea what could have caused the damage," he said.
"It was only after police arrived and investigated that we were told they had actually been home-made pipe bombs.
"I'd never heard of them. Then we Googled them and were shocked by what could have happened.
"It's all pretty scary.
"I'm just thankful everyone is okay and no one was hurt.
"Imagine if they had been thrown through windows into the house?"
Mr Reeves said the incident had left his wife and two children shaken.
"My wife's a mess," he said. "She doesn't want to come outside.
"Our daughter [aged 11] is very upset, while our son [14] is shaken but trying not to show it.
"We have lived here for 16 years and never had any trouble or experienced anything like this.
"It's all a bit scary and too close to home."
Both vehicles sustained smashed windscreens and minor damage to the bonnet area.
Officers from South Coast Police District established a crime scene at the location on Wednesday night and were assisted by the Rescue and Bomb Disposal Unit to ensure the area was safe.
Police continue to investigate the incident but said initial inquiries suggest it was "targeted".
