The role was formerly called General Manager,and was filled at the council's Tuesday, June 25, meeting.
Former General Manager, Russ Pigg, announced his August retirement in December of 2018, after 16 years in the role.
Former Finance, Corporate and Community Services director, Stephen Dunshea has been acting as General Manager in the interim, and had now been appointed to the position.
At the June 25 meeting, he signed a five year contract, and expressed enthusiasm for the role.
"I'm not going anywhere," he said.
"This is the best council I have ever worked for. Every day is a pleasure here.
"It was meant to be."
