The Kiama couple tied the knot on Saturday, April 6 at Seacliff House in Gerringong in front of 65 family and friends.
The pair started their big day with an early morning surf together and finished it with a party to end all.
Alex's (nee Stonach) bridesmaids were her best friend, sister and cousin, while Mat was joined by mates Eddie, Dean and Benny.
Alex walked down the aisle to the acoustic version of Tash Sultana's 'Notion' to marry the man she met in a Camden pub 10 years ago.
Everything about the day went just as the pair had hoped.
"We had great weather and it was just a relaxed, fun day, which we really wanted," Alex said.
The ceremony and reception included kite flying, catering by Duck Duck Goose, local band Sandy Feet provided the tunes and the couple's friend officiated the ceremony as their celebrant - and also partied the hardest later in the night, according to Alex.
The stunning flowers were provided by Alex's florist sister, and Hollie from The Holliewood Hair and Beauty looked after the bridal party.
Talented photographer Andy Gray of Parlour AG captured the day beautifully, even pulling out his wetsuit and underwater camera to join the couple on their pre-wedding surf.
While Alex admitted both her and Mat are "pretty useless" at surfing, she said it was the perfect start to their wedding.
Mat, a coal mine worker, and Alex, an exercise physiologist who works right across the Shoalhaven, enjoyed a two week honeymoon to Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
