"One of the goals of this carnival is ensuring people with disability are included in sport and have an opportunity to reach their hopes and dreams on the field," AFL NSW/ACT community football support manager Jacinta Houston said.
The AFL National Inclusion Carnival, which will run from July 15-21, brings together footballers with an intellectual disability from across the country to take part in a week-long round-robin competition, this year to be held at Blacktown International Sportspark for the first time.
Footballers hailing from all corners of Australia will have the opportunity to don the representative jumper, with teams from New South Wales and the ACT, the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria Country, Victoria Metro, and Western Australia set to take to the field.
