Current Shoalhaven High School student Gurney, who played for the under 18s Country side in their 34-18 loss to NSW City on Saturday, has been named in Brett Marchant's Colts team.
Joining Gurney in the 32-person squad are Toutai Aho, Jack Allen, Will Archer, Harvey Austin, Jack Bell, Jordan Byfield, Zac Crowley, Jack Dalon, Ollie Gibbon, Sullivenusi Haklo, Cooper Hansen, Jack Johnson Holmes, Soul Lauvi-Johnson, Harry Layton, Harrison lee, Tupou Lolohea, Matt Martin, Brady Mather, Morgan McWhirter, Beau Merrick, Viliami Muru Teatau, Jack Perry, Adam Peruch, Sean Peruch, Elias Pettigrew, Atutahi Reti, Zac Robbins, Jonah Ruggs, Opeti Taufahema, Alex Vaughan and Kyle Watson.
It was a strong selection weekend for Gurney, who was also named in the NSW junior seconds team.

While Chimwaza will get another chance to represent the NSW Country Cockatoos, after being named in their 37-player squad, which is coached by Shaun McCreedy.
Former Nowra High School student Chimwaza, who played for the Cockatoos in 2018, is joined in the open men's squad by Tom Baker, Mark Baldwin, Josefa Biu, Travis Brook, Vitori Buatava, Harrison Chapman, Jordan Clark, Leighton Cowley, Joe Dakuitoga, Ben Damen, Tyrone Davies, Mahe Fangupo, Charlie French, Alex Gibbon, Lachlan Harris, Jack Hobbs, Sam Kerry, Shahid Khalfan, Matt King, Ben Lenehan, Kye Marshall, Ethan McGuiness, Shaun McHugh, Kevin McNamara, Justin Mobbs, Macae Muru Teutau, Joe Nash, Dane Betherey, Wayne Ngatai, Filisone Pauta, Cody Roman, Dane Ryan, Aisake Tuevu, Astunaisa Turagabeci, Josh Vainakolo and Henry Yuill.
