Community Services students from TAFE Nowra are partnering with the North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels to develop the Meals 2gether program.
The organisation is looking for volunteers who would like to visit seniors in their own home to share a meal, have a chat, play a game of cards, chess or listen to music.
Lisa Burns, manager of North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels said volunteers would be making a big difference in someone's life.
"Some clients only contact with the community is with our volunteers when they deliver meals," she said.
"It would be great to build on this by sharing a meal, having a laugh and enjoying each others company."
While volunteers are crucial to Meals on Wheels, they also receive satisfaction from helping others.
Sue O'Brien is a volunteer with the service and said her visits are eye-opening.
"Sometimes It's easy to forget that these people have lived full, interesting lives, until you start a conversation, then it's fascinating to learn about them."

If you have spare time and would like to volunteer to visit Shoalhaven's seniors, North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels is looking forward to meeting you.
