The Lions had little trouble dealing with their southern neighbours as they jumped out to a 28-nil lead in the first half that all but sealed the win for them.
After weathering some early pressure from Berry, the Lions opened the scoring through Matt Winchester.
Joel Roberts spotted some space down a short blindside before the ever elusive Gerringong centre crossed.
Jake Taylor converted for a 6-nil lead inside 10 minutes.
The visitors wasted little time in extending that lead and marched down the field with ease in the following set, to again be attacking the Berry line.
Lions skipper Nathan Ford caught the home side napping and crashed over on the right fringe.
Taylor added another conversion to put the Lions up 12.
Possession swung to the Magpies following Ford's try and the home side looked to have hit back through winger Jimmy Hendrix, but some desperate defence from the Lions kept the score intact.
While the Magpies couldn't make the most of their chances, the Lions had no such trouble.
Soon finding themselves in Berry territory again, the visitors extended their lead when centre Alec Brookes sliced through out wide.
Roberts missed his shot at goal as the Lions led 16-nil.
Roberts would be the next Lion to cross when the makeshift backrower found some room to move on the left hand side.
Taylor added his third conversion and the Lions led 22-nil with 10 remaining in the half.
The Lions weren't done for the first 40 just yet though and some second phase play from Corey Mulhall allowed Brookes to crash over for his double.
Taylor added another conversion and Gerringong took a 28-nil lead to the sheds.
That lead didn't take long to change as the Lions wasted little time in opening the scoring in the second half.
Toby Gumley-Quine got on the outside of the Berry defence with his speed and found Brookes who then sent winger Harry Phillips over in the corner.
Taylor knocked over another conversion and the Lions led 34-nil.
Gerringong soon went back to back as Brookes completed his hat trick.
A desperation kick from Taylor on the last caught Berry out and the Gerringong centre pounced.
Taylor's fifth conversion put Gerringong up 40-nil with half an hour to play.
With a handy lead, the Lions were perhaps guilty of putting the cue in the rack and Berry finally opened their account.
The home side capitalised on some field position and the ever reliable Blake Dryden skipped through some lacklustre defence to cross under the posts.
Josh Ingold converted to bring the score to 40-6.
With 20 minutes remaining after Dryden's try, most in attendance thought there would be more points to come, but poor handling from both sides meant there was little to write home about in the final quarter.
Gerringong winger Joel Doosey capped the win for his side when he grabbed an intercept and raced 60 metres inside the final five minutes.
Taylor kept up his perfect day with the boot and rounded out the score at 46-6.
