On Saturday, a young man lost his life in a motor accident on Crooked River Road. On Monday, a boy died after an all terrain vehicle rollover in Meroo Meadow. And later that morning, a body was discovered in mysterious circumstances in a unit in Nowra. We spent several hours at the scene talking with police as they carried out the investigations and were impressed with their professionalism and composure on a day that would have rattled most.
Over the years, we've built solid relationships with local paramedics and firefighters who are first on the scene of these terrible events. One of them is Chris Lahene, who has been appointed NSW Ambulance District Operations Manager (DOM) to be based at Bomaderry. Chris is often there with a kind word in the worst of circumstances. Humanity at its best.
Speaking of humanity, we were taken with the extraordinary photography of Cambewarra's Tamara Dean, who ventured underwater with her subjects to explore human instinct, motherhood and other themes. Her work is truly remarkable.
