At the Kiama Showground, Mark Brandon (one try, one conversion and two penalties) scored all of Shoals' points in the 13-point defeat.
In other first grade results, Bowral edged out Avondale 18-13 (with the game abandoned early due to a serious injury), Shamrocks smashed Campbelltown 36-3, Camden defeated Tech Waratahs 45-29 in a high scoring affair and Vikings won a thriller against University 27-23.
Kiama was not a happy hunting ground for Shoals on Saturday, with their second grade side going down 56-nil to the Cows.
Thankfully Shoals' third grade side provided something to cheer about, as they easily accounted for the Southern Crushers 34-14, as the Vincentia Van Goghs went down 17-7 to Vikings in the same division.
Next week, Shoals return to Rugby Park, where they will host Avondale.
