The manager at North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels oversees more than 400 volunteers working across the region.
Without the many drivers, meal deliverers, promotions officers, social media managers and bookkeepers, she said the organisation wouldn't be able to deliver the more than 44,000 meals they do yearly.
"Volunteers are the heartbeat or the lifeline of the organisation," Lisa said.
National Volunteers Week runs from May 20-26 and celebrates the huge difference volunteers make in our communities.
Every day meals are delivered to Berry, Shoalhaven Heads, Bomaderry Culburra and the Jervis Bay region.
However, Ms Burns said people often assume volunteer roles in the organisation are limited to drivers and deliverers.
"Volunteers are the heartbeat or the lifeline of the organisation.

While she said these roles are important, the organisation is in need of a bookkeeper, a social media manager, and help with promotions.
The bookkeeping role requires seven hours a fortnight and would be perfect for a retired bookkeeper or accountant, or even someone still in the field who would like to lend their skills.
The work can be done from home, in flexible hours, and training can be provided.
There's no physical money collection involved, just IT knowledge and skills in invoicing and paying bills online.
"If you want to make a difference to your community, this is it," Lisa said.
"It's a chance to feel part of the community and really make a difference."
Anyone over the age of 18 interested in any of the volunteer roles would be welcomed. Contact North Shoalhaven Meals on Wheels on 4422 5111 for more information.
