Veterans applauded as Bomaderry RSL Sub Branch President Bob O'Grady praised school kids who marched in uniform during school holidays.
"What a terrific turn out," he said.
"I'm very impressed with the amount of school kids and scouts here, being a school holiday.
"Thank you to the public for making this a great commemorative day."
Anzac Day evokes memories for those who have lived through the horror of war.
The wives of late veterans Rosemarie Garnon and Patricia Fayers, who were at the service in Bomaderry, said Anzac Day is a sad day for them, and offered insight on war.
"Every war is going to be the last one, but it never is," Mrs Garnon said.
At 86, Korean War veteran Bob Morris OAM was among the oldest at the service.
Mr Morris who spent 500 days in Korea said he has not stopped fighting for recognition for Korean veterans, and will continue to badger the Australian government until they are given due acknowledgement.
He seeks recognition of service for about 5000 of men who served in the Korean War after 1953.
