That's the opinion of local butcher Bryce Warnock - and after taking a swag of awards in the NSW Regional Smallgoods competition for the Illawarra/South Coast region.
"To take out an award that includes both the Illawarra and Shoalhaven was pretty good," he said.
"I was really happy even with the silver and bronze, because of the good competition and the amount of people in that area.
"I think Greenwell Point in general is award winning - our oysters, fish and chips, and we have a great pub."
The butchery includes Mr Warnock, his wife Nicole, and employee Isaac Allen. They took first place for their pepperoni, but had a number of other products pick up second and third placings, including their cabanossi, ham, beef sausages and bacon.
They make and smoke all items on the premises, and Bryce said perfection had been at least a decade in the making.
"The secret to good pepperoni is good meat," he said.
"We've been doing it for ten to fifteen years - it takes a long time to perfect. There was a lot of trial and error in the beginning to get the perfect mix.
"It just feels good that we're putting effort in and it's recognised."
