It didn't take long before Ryan Walker scored the Warriors' first try of the season. After this the boys became a little complacent and the Stingrays starting making inroads through the middle of the field after some soft defence. They strolled over to equal the score. After this the Warriors clicked into gear and were being led around the park by their halves, Michael Browne and Paul Little with Ryan Walker leading the forwards after the withdrawal of Zac Cruickshank.
The Warriors excited again to go into halftime with the lead. After the break and a spray from coach Sean Cruickshank the boys muscled up in defence and this led to field position and more points on the scoreboard. They ran out winners 30-16.
