Ms Machingura joined more than 200 degree graduates from across the state at the graduation ceremony at TAFE NSW Ultimo recently.
She works as an early childhood teacher at Noah's Ark and is now planning to study a masters.
"I'm so proud to have graduated with my degree," she said.
Her education in the industry began one year after arriving from Zimbabwe in 2013 to live with family in Australia.
She enrolled at TAFE NSW Bomaderry to study a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education in 2014. She then went on to complete a diploma and then her degree at TAFE NSW Shellharbour.
"I work with children who have additional needs. It's very satisfying work and it's an area I would like to specialise in," she said.
"There is a need for more people with this level of qualification and I recommend it."
