THE Bomaderry Tigers women's side have started their AFL South Coast premiership defence in perfect fashion, by thrashing Northern Districts 6.9-45 to 1.0-6 at Artie Smith Oval.

In the 39-point win, Maddy Pearson and Lily Macdonald both kicked two goals while Emma Dowse and Katie Sargent kicked one each.
As a result, Dowse was named best on ground, with Bridget Kellett, Brooke Swankie, Samantha Weir, Tiffany Weynberg and Macdonald also playing well.
Unfortunately, this was the only win on the day for the Tigers, with the men's premier division side losing to Norths 10.10-70 to 9.7-61 and their division one men's side going down to Port Kembla 12.10-82 to 7.8-50.
In the premier division loss, Jordan Matthews kicked six goals, while Jack Boxsell was named their top performer.
While Lachlan Price kicked two goals for the Tigers in division one, as Matthew Bryce was adjudged their best on ground.
