A team of five local students will fly to California to compete in the Lego International Open in May.

On Saturday, the students met at the Game Cave in Nowra, to share their expertise and thank the families who have supported them so far.
"A lot of local businesses have been involved in fundraising, we wanted to show off what we've been doing to business owners and families that have been helping us out," Blockstars team member Jessica Weakley said.
"It was really rewarding, a lot of them have young kids who are so mind-blown by what we can do with just Lego.
"It was good to put faces to names of people who have supported us through the qualifying rounds in Australia."
The team is comprised of one student who is home-schooled, and others who attend Bomaderry High, Nowra High and St Johns the Evangelist Catholic High.
The Blockstars is one of 13 Australian teams picked to go overseas.
"It's an amazing competition for anyone who's interested in problem solving, and has an interest in the future of technology," Miss Weakley said.
