The conservative beast was stirred and voted accordingly. Simply not enough of a reason to change the government based upon Labor's narrative was the chant and on election day it became a roar.

Federal Labor must be held to account for their tax increase proposals regarding negative gearing, franking credits and the impact of a 47 per cent emissions trading target.

Toss in immigration and cost of living pressures, among them electricity prices, and the stage will be set for one hell of an election campaign.

The PM must corner Shorten and force him to explain how much each of his new tax proposals will cost and who will be affected. Shorten must provide a credible answer or he may experience the same fate as Michael Daley. 

The old adage - the devil is in the detail - may become Shorten's Achilles heel. Bad news is never easy to sell but unfair bad news is even harder or almost impossible and you only have to look at Michael Daley for proof of that.

As the desert dunes are are moved by the winds so are the political fortunes of the less prepared for the trials of winning public opinion.

I thought I was on the Australian Organ Donor Register for years, had indicated it on my NSW driver's licence and discussed my donation wishes with my in case of emergency person. 

I recently moved house and had to go online to update the new address details everywhere. I was on MyGov and changed the details on Medicare.

I'd never looked around the Medicare site before and found the Australian Donor Register tab, clicked it, and realised I wasn't registered.

I was genuinely shocked as for years I believed I was.

I immediately signed up and then sent a message to Medicare to ask what happened, why wasn't I registered and if this happened to me, has it happened to other people?

I received a phone calll later that day from Medicare to say they weren't sure what had happened, I seemed to have slipped through but I was now registered. Yesterday my Australian Organ Donor Register card arrived in the mail.

I'm writing to you as many of your readers may be in the same situation as me. - believing they were on the register as years ago they'd signed up and in fact they may not be. I'm sure they'd want to know so they can make sure they are on the register and if not sign up. 

Purple Day (March 26) is a global initiative to raise awareness of the impact of epilepsy.

Seizure First Aid – Key Steps: stay with the person; keep them safe, removing anything that could hurt them; don't try to restrain them; don't put anything in their mouth; roll them onto their side once jerking/shaking subsides; reassure them until they have recovered; call an ambulance if the seizure lasts longer than five minutes.
