Needing a win to ensure the minor premiership, NSW blitzed the Rebels team from the outset and stormed to a 40-12 half-time lead after piling on six tries.

The second half was a little closer but the Waratahs showed why they are the title favourites by blowing out the final margin to 44 points.

Shanice Parker scored four tries in the space of 32 minutes as NSW ran in 10 tries to the Rebels' two.

Captain Ash Hewson, who scored a five-pointer herself in the 24th minute, did not appear overly impressed by the manner in which NSW won but was happy her side had qualified for its second consecutive final.

"We've got a lot to work on," Hewson said.

"There were a few loose carries. We executed where we wanted to. We want to stick to our structures a bit more. We lost it in bits and pieces of the game. We knew it wasn't going to be easy and they proved that.

"It's really great after last year hosting the final and playing at Leichhardt a couple of weeks ago against Queensland ... it was a really great atmosphere. Hopefully, we can double [the crowd] and get some support for the final."

The Waratahs will have a week off before the final on April 6. They will take on the winners of a semi-final held the week prior.

The Rebels' shortcomings have been there for everyone to see this year and while they fought admirably, their overall skill level just does not compare to their northern rivals.

The fact they scored only 10 points in their first three games indicated they were going to find it extremely difficult to keep up with a Waratahs side high on confidence.

When they did score their first try - their first points ever against NSW for that matter - their celebration showed how much it meant to them.

"We always knew it was going to be a tough battle," Rebels captain Meretiana Robinson said.

"We had one thing [we wanted to do] and that was to make the last game count and leave the legacy that we are proud of on the field. We're pretty proud of the effort we put in."
