But that will all mean little when Nowra Nowra-Cambewarra, appearing in their first semi-final since 2011/12, host Berry-Shoalhaven Heads at the Bernie Regan Sporting Complex.
Justin Weller's Norths side secured the rights to host the semi-final thanks to five straight victories, including one against this weekend's rivals Berry in round 10.
"The boys have really found some form since the Christmas break," Weller said.
"That winning streak, including two big outright wins, has given all the boys plenty of confidence going into this weekend.
"To be rewarded with home semi-final is massive and I'm sure all the boys will give their best against Berry."
During this season, bowling has been the strength for Norths, led by their heartbeat Justin Weller with 47 wickets at an average of eight, so the skipper knows how important their batting will against the Magpies.
"Our keys to victory lie in our batting, as our bowling has done the job all year," he said.
"Now it's time for our batters to step up against a quality bowling attack that Berry will role out.
"Luke Huard, Jack Carter and Nick McDonald are the keys in this aspect, as they can all bat for long periods of time, which is required to win finals matches."
As Weller alludes to, Berry have a number of experienced campaigners on their line-up, which his side will need to keep an eye on.
"David Crapp, NathanThomas and Glenn Brandon are their dangermen with the bat - they've led their team all year with plenty of runs, so we need to make sure we get them early," he said.
"And obviously they have a well balanced bowling attack led by Tom Gibbs and Tom Dougall, who on there day are capable of tearing any side apart."
Differently, the Magpies, captained by Glenn Brandon, come into this fixture on the back of an unexpected loss to Nowra in the final round.
"The loss last week showed the desire in this team to always think of the ultimate goal and that is to win the two-day premiership," Brandon, who has 24 wickets to his name this season, said.
"We batted well and could of made a lot more runs last week but stuck at it and did well to claim first innings.
"Good tough cricket like that puts us in good stead for this weekend."
On two of the three occasions Berry has played Norths in the 2018/19 season, the Cambewarriors have been victorious - but that means very little come finals time explained Brandon, who is retiring at the end of the season.
"The key to us beating Norths will be to hold our catches, because I know we will create enough chances," he said.
"Against Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens recently, we dropped way too many catches, but created more than enough chances to win that match.
"Justin Weller has had an exceptional season - very much playing a lone hand at times but in the T20 match, we limited his opportunities and won the match easily.
"And then the two-day game was a bit out of the ordinary and we aren't reading anything in to that."
While Brandon said Norths rely heavily on certain players, his team is quite the opposite.
"We have a wealth of finals experience, and our club has a history of success - we don't rely on any one player," he said.
"I'd never ask my players to do something I wouldn't expect from myself, so if I can play well, hopefully others will follow.
"Norths have had players chop and change clubs a fair bit over recent seasons, so I guess that creates its own pressures internally for them."
And as much as Brandon would like to be involved in another grand final week, he isn't looking that far ahead.
"I've been lucky enough to be part of grand final week on eight occasions, but that is not even on the radar yet," he said.
"There is a lot of cricket to be played over the weekend against a quality opponent."
Play at the Bernie Regan Sporting Complex starts at 1pm on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday.
