Currarong residents want their narrow, bumpy and dangerous road fixed.
Residents celebrated when $1.45 million was allocated to fix the road but the money, under frustrating circumstances because it did not fit the funding criteria, went just as quickly as it came.
Shoalhaven City Council got the blame for the works not going ahead.
However, council claims the funds were not "returned", the money never received and they still want the road fixed.
Incumbent Member for the South Coast Shelley Hancock was called by the Currarong Community Association for her support and she attended a meeting in February.
Mrs Hancock in a press release titled "Currarong Road a Priority" said she would write to the Minister for Roads, Melinda Pavey, and request funding is allocated to fix the well-used road.

Mrs Hancock, on the eve of the State Election, remains committed to fixing Currarong Road.
"If re-elected I would lobby to ensure Currarong Road would benefit from this increase in roads funding as a priority," Mrs Hancock said.
"I made representations to the Minister following my meeting with the Currarong community at which they raised concerns regarding the safety of Currarong Road.
"Due to caretaker provisions I am yet to receive a response but I raised the matter with the Minister when she was on the South Coast recently.
"Council are now due to resubmit an application for funding which I informed the Minister of, and expressed my strong support."
Mrs Hancock said the incumbent NSW Government has already put $1.45 million on the table for improvements to Currarong Road.

Residents knew the road was popular but even they were amazed by the figure of 57,000 vehicles in 21 days.
The average speed of motorists for such a narrow roads worries the residents as does the number heavy vehicles (veh) using it.
