The retiree discovered his good fortune on Sunday morning, but started screaming when the amount was confirmed on Monday morning.
"I was absolutely thrilled when I received an email on Saturday night saying I'd won a prize," he said.
"But this is just life-changing. It's like I've been walking in a dream."
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he's been buying lottery tickets for decades.
He described himself as a down-to-earth man who had worked hard his entire life.
"We've always lived very humbly and now we will be able to holiday and tick off some items on our bucket list" he said.
"My wife and I will be able to visit friends and relatives all over the world."

The man purchased his winning marked 24-game entry at Ulladulla Lotteries and Souvenirs on Wason Street.
Ulladulla Lotteries and Souvenirs owner Rob Doyle said the entire team was celebrating selling their first division one winning entry.
"When we first heard that we had sold a division one winning entry we were so excited and we started decorating the store immediately, not knowing if the customer would come in early," he said.
"All our customers are very excited that we have sold a division one winning entry and are looking forward to the next one. A lot of them say that things come in threes.
"We took over ownership of the outlet at the end of last year so this is our first division one win in the three months that we have owned it.
"We wish the winner all the best for the future and congratulations on their win. We can't wait to sell another one."
