A shoplifting operation in Nowra on Thursday, March 14, caught 16 shoplifters at two locations, police say.
One shoplifter had received a separate larceny charge earlier in the week, and another had drugs detected on them, a police spokeswoman said.
The spokeswoman said the operation involved five police, who were assisted by loss prevention officers.
"They went to major grocery stores," the spokeswoman said.
"In one, 13 people of interest were identified, three criminal infringement notices were issued, and 10 charges are going before the court.
"At the next location, four people of interest were identified, two charges are going before the court and two criminal infringement notices were issued.
"All up, there were 16 shoplifters, one of whom had a previous larceny charge from earlier in the week.
"One offender also had drugs detected with them."
