A great afternoon started off with both T-ball and Junior baseball between players and parents. In both games children came out on top for the wins. Some big hits were had by Allison Davis, Daniel Lawler, Riley Mason and Mackenzie Mannix. Riley Mason finished the Junior game off with a huge home run. T-baller Charles Meagher had a close catch in the game, nearly getting out a few parents sitting on bases.
We had stations set up for face painting, glitter tattoos and LED products which proved to be a great success raising funds for our club while putting smiles on the players' and siblings' faces. We all then enjoyed a lovely bite to eat from the canteen and barbecue.
We started off our presentation with T-Ball and all players who had participated so well throughout the year gained a participation trophy. Ethan Wilson was awarded the T-Ball encouragement trophy, and T-baller of the Year went to newcomer Charlie Wilson who was a great all-rounder for her team.
In Junior Baseball/Zookaball everyone showed such commitment to turning up they were all presented with participation trophies. Junior Encouragement Award went to Tahlia Rogers-Segol, Rookie of the Year was taken out by Abbie Read and Junior of the Year went to Allison Davis who showed such great commitment to her baseball, proving it doesn’t matter how big you are you can also do big hits. Allison was one of our T-baller kids last year who stepped up to Juniors this year.
Our Don Burke Award this year was awarded to Lochlan Quiney who has showed throughout the season to be an all-rounder club person. He is also polite and willing to help wherever needed, and was quite often found doing field work with field staff Ben Quiney or Michael Taylor.
Finishing the night off was our Under 14s side who spent the season learning all about the competition that Illawarra Baseball had to offer. Our team had a great season and progressed well throughout the season. Coaches award went to Riley Mason and Most Valued Player was taken out by Saxon Reghenzani-Tate who sadly won’t be able to join us next year as he transitions into Senior league.
We would like to thank Nowra Fresh for donating the sausages for the kids BBQ which were most enjoyed along with Star Trophies for putting our Trophies together which were nothing short of fantastic.
To all our T Ballers and Juniors Shoalhaven Mariners Baseball Association are very proud of each and every one of you !
Shoalhaven Mariners Baseball Association would like to take this time to thank the Coaches and Parents for their dedication to getting their children to baseball every week and making it such a fun environment to be in. Look forward to seeing you all in October for a new season of baseball.
Watch our Facebook page for the come-and-try dates later in the year.
