Hayley Lynch arrived at Bottlerocket Bar on Kinghorne Street on Saturday morning, March 9, to find the front door of the bar had been smashed.
"I didn't know what had happened at first," she said.
But after checking CCTV footage, Ms Lynch discovered that a man had tried to break into the bar about 2.30am on Saturday morning.
"He tried for a little bit to get in and when he couldn't, he turned around and kicked the door," she said.
Ms Lynch has owned Bottlerocket for the past four years and has not had one break in or smashed window during that time.
"We've had people rip plants out of the garden but never anything like this," she said. "It's upsetting."
Ms Lynch has received a quote to replace the glass doors, which she said will leave her out of pocket. She's urged the person who smashed the windows to come forward and pay for the damage.
"We'd just like it to be fixed and we'd like the person to come forward," she said.
"We've all done something stupid when we're drunk but this isn't fair."
Luckily, the man was captured on CCTV footage, which has been given to police. A South Coast Police District spokesperson said the incident was under investigation and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
