It's an issue Shoalhaven City Council and the Shoalhaven Business Chamber have taken up with the state government as it plans the new Nowra bridge to replace the old steel structure which is well past its use-by date.
Both groups are pushing for a flyover at the Illaroo Road-Princes Highway. They presented a bare-bones basic concept plan to the RMS in December and are angry they are yet to receive a response to their preferred option - perhaps a little unfairly given the complex and time-consuming nature of road and bridge construction.
It's a story we will be keeping an eye on.
