The interactive event will focus on intergenerational experiences and activities.
Guests will celebrate what it means to “Love Your Life” as the theme of the Seniors Festival.
The event will involve activities for all.
Flagstaff’s School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) students will assist with running the morning and will engage in all activities alongside the seniors that attend the event.
Guests are invited to come together to plant something in the Flagstaff community garden. Bring a clipping from your garden and leave a part of your life behind.
The students will lead a session of drumming and percussion in an interactive drumming circle and invite senior guests to join with them, promoting an intergenerational exchange of knowledge and fun.
There will be a morning tea on arrival allowing people to socialise and meet new friends.
Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley will join guests in a tour of Flagstaff Shoalhaven services and enjoy a food tasting from the Flagstaff Fine Foods frozen foods menu. A gift pack will be presented at the end to all attendees.
“The intergenerational aspect of our event is at the heart of all of Flagstaff’s work of improving inclusiveness and accessibility for all," Flagstaff CEO Roy Rogers said.
Flagstaff will launch a new program, Switched-On Seniors, which will further Flagstaff’s provision of opportunity to local seniors by offering an inclusive transition to retirement program of activities for employees with a disability and the local community.
