First division was won by Vicky Diefenbach with a plus one, the only positive score for the day. Well done! We think Vicky was showing off to her visiting sister. Kerry Mayer was next with a -1 then Sandra Gonzalez on -2.
Division 2 saw a count back between Susan Finlay and Trish Dyball, both equal to par. Susan won through to take first from Trish with Val Kotlash next on -2. Pat Maidment also needed the countback to win from Ellen Glanville both with -2. Catherine Hayward was second runner up in third division with -4.

On Thursday Women's golf were greeted to a nippy, fresh autumnal morning for the first Par event of the year and the beginning of the Eclectic competition. It was a good roll up for the competition with 34 players participating but once again the course proved challenging and the overall scoring was relatively high. For those who found themselves in the rough too often, it was hard to come up with a “square” score on a hole let alone manage a much coveted “plus”. Despite the difficulties encountered, there were no complaints about the temperature which hovered around an extremely pleasant 25 degrees.
Lyn Hatchman made a creditable comeback for the year to top the Division 1 scoring with a minus one on the card with Sandra England in second place with minus four. In Division 2, Trish Austin knocked up her second win for the year, recording a minus three on a countback from Jeanette Bright with minus three also. Good effort Trish – a very good start to the year. The results in Division 3 proved to be the best of the day as it would appear that Di Pritchard in the top position, and Jenny Parnell in second spot, must have played a different course entirely. Di finished her round with a sensational plus four and Jenny was not far off with a stunning plus two. Congratulations to both ladies – especially Jenny who has not been participating for several months.
The ball competition went to minus six. Nearest the pin: 8th – Division 1 Sue Hunter; Division 2 Trish Austin; 12th – Division 1 Sue Stephens; Division 2 Angela Boadle; Division 3 Jenny Parnell
Next week there is a 3 Ball Best Ball sponsored by Sandra England. It is always pleasant to play a team event so support Sandra’s generosity and get a team together.
