Bushido Judo Club Shoalhaven members started back at training the day after most students started back at their school. The club has been involved in training and competing at Shoalhaven Heads Community Centre for 23 years, producing winners in local, state, national and international championships.

The first training session for 2019 saw more than 60 judo players on the mat which stretched the community centre to capacity. Some members travel from Wollongong and as far as Ulladulla and Batemans Bay to attend.
Bushido Judo Club Shoalhaven has 161 members. All the coaches have returned this year including Bruce Fagan 6th Dan 1992 Olympic Coach, 1990 Commonwealth Games Coach, Shoalhaven Hall of Fame Sports Hero; Darren Fagan 3rd Dan 1996 Olympian 4 times Oceania Champion and Australian champion and formerly ranked a top ten competitor in the World; Danny Fagan 3rd Dan 11 times Australian Champion and formerly ranked in the top 11 in the world; Hiromi Fagan 3rd Dan 20015 Australian Champion and Japan rep; Ken Murphy 2nd Dan Former State Champion; Casey Duggan 1st Dan South Coast Heavyweight Champion; Shekea Potter 1st Dan Medalist in Australian Titles; Elisha Gilmore 1st Dan Australian rep to World Titles and former Oceania Champion; George Lappin 1st Dan Medalist National and State Titles; Tony Butz 1st Dan Martial Arts Author and Historian; Daniel Fagan 1st Kyu Young Men’s Australian Heavyweight Champion; Taylor Fagan 1st Kyu Australian Champion; and Alicia Congram 1st kyu Bronze medalist at the Youth Olympics.
